Should you buy the moto G4/ G4 plus?

Moto G4

Motorola launched the first moto G three years back. With each generation of the moto G, Motorola improved its upcoming lineup. The moto G3 launched a year back was in fact a very good phone, not because of its specifications but due to the end user experience that it offered. It was not so good the paper, but in practical use it was awesome. This year Moto launched the moto G4 plus and the regular moto G4 plus. This time the competition is tough than earlier year. We have the Lenovo ZUK Z1, Redmi Note 3, Honor 5C and the Le Eco 2. The moto G4 plus as launched last month and the online reviews seem to be mixed. Moto has done a great job with the camera performance and it is one of the best camera phone available under 20k. Also the finger print scanner is really fast But it seems that moto has got some things wrong. The phone heats up a bit while playing games, which some people may not like. Many people who have purchased this phone have this problem. Casual gaming is okay but with extended gaming the phone heats quite a bit. But the smartphone is able to play heavy games like Asphalt 8 also without any lag. The curved back design of earlier moto G4 plus was really good and provided a good in hand feel and grip. But the new moto G4 plus looks flat. Also the camera protrudes out a bit which some may not like. As always the moto G4 plus runs on the latest Android M 6.0.1 and Moto has promised to update it to Android N and O. The moto G4 plus has a gyroscope sensor which means you can enjoy the 360 videos as well as the VR experience. But the basic sensor like compass is missing which is weird.
Finally, the question: Has Moto gone right with G4 plus? On most parameters, Yes. There are some things which were not as expected but still moto G4 plus is a very good phone and you can surely have a look at it.
